Brian and Melanie love traveling to exotic locales. It’s one of their favorite parts of this business! So they are excited to get on the road next week when Brian Boggs Chairmakers joins the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina at the Dubai Hotel Show.
“I’ve traveled around the world, but never to Dubai,” Melanie remarked. “For quite a while, people have recommended that we look at Dubai to share our custom-made wooden furniture. We believe pieces like our Tango table and our Grand Lily arm chair will add elegance to any luxury hotel.”
Focus and Fun
One of the focuses of the Dubai Hotel Show this year is sustainability, held as a central value of our business. The Booking.com Sustainability Travel report states that “70% of global travelers say they would be more likely to book an accommodation knowing it was eco-friendly, whether they were looking for a sustainable stay or not.” Assisting hotels in this effort, we use sustainably-sourced hardwoods in our furniture.
While at the show, Brian will speak on an international panel on furniture design. “I look forward to sharing my insights and design philosophy as we explore this controversial topic.”
“Over the years we have learned the most effective way for companies to succeed in their export efforts is to travel to foreign markets,” said Liz Isley, International Trade Manager for North Carolina Furniture Export at the EDPNC. “EDPNC has been exhibiting at this particular event over the past 5 years and find that this is the premiere event for NC furniture/hospitality companies in the region. Currently, the UAE is the second strongest market for furniture exports out of NC.”
“I’m looking forward to experiencing this international crowd of people. Over 30,000 people are supposed to attend! I also want to find out what Dubai has to offer ,” Melanie said. “I hear it is BIG!”
Located at the Dubai World Trade Centre, this is the 20th edition of the Dubai Hotel Show. This conference supports the GCC hospitality market, projected to reach $32.5 billion in 2020.
